Helping Military Veterans Find Careers and Donating Homes

At ABC Supply, our seven Core Values are at the heart of how we treat our associates, serve our customers and support our military. We believe in the American dream and honoring America — it’s why our company colors are red, white and blue. We also believe in giving every associate a chance to succeed, regardless of where they’re starting from.

One of the ways that we live two of our Core Values, American Pride and Opportunity, is by supporting military veterans. Here are just a few ways we’re helping our nation’s heroes.

Veteran Hiring Pledge

Finding a rewarding and meaningful career after serving in the military can be challenging for many veterans. That’s why we’re committed to helping veterans transition into positions that use their military experience and set them up for fulfilling, lifelong careers with a team that has their back.

We have a variety of jobs for veterans, such as delivery drivers, material handlers, sales associates and managers, that require skills that many have mastered while in the military. In fact, we’ve hired a veteran for every day of the year in 2022 and more than 2,100 since 2017.

Connecting With Veterans Through Job Fairs and More

We’ve partnered with several organizations to help veterans find fulfilling careers in the building industry by connecting with ABC Supply, including attending more than 100 job fairs since 2017 – many of them in partnership with RecruitMilitary. We’ve also made a veteran hiring pledge with military.com.

In 2021, ABC Supply became the 1,000^th partner of the U.S. Army’s Partnership for Your Success (PaYS) Program. Soldiers participating in PaYS are provided an opportunity for a job interview and possible employment after the Army with their five chosen PaYS partners.

Driving Donations at the Indianapolis 500

In 2020, we committed to supporting Homes For Our Troops (HFOT), a nonprofit that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, enabling them to rebuild their lives. To date, HFOT has built and donated more than 330 homes. Read about a few of the veterans whom we’ve been able to help through HFOT here.

In 2022, we stepped up our support for the organization with a campaign at “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing,” the Indy 500. Through our partnership with AJ Foyt Racing, we volunteered the design of the ABC Supply IndyCar to highlight HFOT with a patriotic paint job. We also matched donations made to HFOT in the week leading up to and during the Indianapolis 500.

Race fans rallied, and together we donated over $2 million to HFOT in addition to shining a spotlight on the organization’s deserving cause.
