Karl W. Leo has managed ABC Supply’s legal matters for 25 years, including its acquisitions, contracts and litigation matters. He was outside general counsel for the company from 1987 until 2010, when he was named Chief Legal Officer. He has served on ABC Supply’s board of directors since 2009 and is currently a member of its Audit Committee.

Karl also is vice president and chief legal officer for Hendricks Holding Company Inc., which is affiliated with ABC Supply through common ownership. He founded and continues his affiliation with Leo Law LLC in Huntsville, Ala.

He is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s construction and commercial arbitrator panels.

Karl serves on the executive committee for the capital campaign of Whitesburg Christian Academy, a private Christian school (K-12) in Huntsville. He will join the Board of Visitors of Duke University School of Law in Durham, N.C. in the fall of 2013.

He received his Juris Doctor degree from the Duke University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Duke Law Journal and served as the coach of Duke’s intercollegiate debate team. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif.

He served as a law clerk to the chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. He was admitted to the Alabama and North Carolina bars in 1984 and the Wisconsin bar in 2012.
