A.J. Foyt Racing 



A.J. Foyt Racing, located 20 miles northwest of Houston, has been competing at the top levels of motorsports since 1965, over 40 years. With Foyt driving, his team won two Indianapolis 500s and three national Indy car championships. Since his retirement from driving in 1993, the team has continued to win, claiming two more national titles and the 1999 Indianapolis 500 with driver Kenny Brack.

The team operates out of its Waller, TX, facility, which is approximately 25,000 square feet. Additional buildings bring the total to 36,000 square feet on 28 acres of land. In addition to the race prep, fabrication, and painting areas, the race shop has five offices and a wood-panelled conference room. The 2,600 square foot showroom is filled with memorable race cars, trophies, and historic photos.

Team owner, A.J. Foyt will celebrate his 50th anniversary racing Indy cars this season, adding yet another milestone to one of the most remarkable careers in motorsports.  It began with a single race on a dirt track in Springfield, Illinois, in the summer of 1957 and turned into a globetrotting romp of racetracks...

Jack Starne

The team’s general manager, Jack Starne, has worked with A.J. continuously since 1967, starting as a mechanic and working his way up into the positions of chief mechanic, then crew chief, and eventually general manager, a role he assumed in 1990.

 

Larry Foyt

Larry Foyt became team director in October 2006 and is responsible for managing its day-to-day activities. A graduate of Texas Christian University, Foyt raced for his father in NASCAR's premier division and in three Indianapolis 500's before assuming his current role at A.J. Foyt Racing

Craig Baranouski

Craig Baranouski began working as a mechanic with the Foyt team at the end of the 1986 season. He became the team's chief mechanic in 1987 and crew chief in 1990. In 2000, he add the role of team manager.

 

Mike Colliver

Mike Colliver joins the team as chief engineer for the 2008 season. Earning his engineering degree at Purdue University in 1988, Colliver began his motorsports career in 1994 and has worked with Indy cars since 1996. He counts winning the 1996 Indianapolis 500 as his most memorable experience to date.
