FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE July 1, 2013 BELOIT, Wis. – Building products distributor ABC Supply Co., Inc. has acquired the distribution assets of Sellmore Industries, a distributor of steep-slope roofing, siding and windows with locations in Baltimore; Philadelphia; Buffalo, N.Y.; and Hagerstown, Md. “These four new locations will expand and strengthen ABC Supply’s existing presence in these markets,” said Chief Executive Officer David Luck. The family atmosphere that helped Sellmore Industries build a loyal customer following will remain unchanged, Luck added. “The core values that Sellmore Industries had – including taking care of the customer and having respect for contractors – are very similar to ABC’s core values,” he said. “It’s a good cultural match.” As ABC Supply branches, the locations will continue to offer the products, brands and services customers had come to expect from Sellmore Industries, said ABC Supply’s Vice President-Northeast Region Tom Kuchan. Sellmore Industries’ vinyl window manufacturing operation in Buffalo was not part of the acquisition and will continue functioning as a separate entity. ABC Supply will sell and promote its products. About ABC Supply ABC Supply is the largest wholesale distributor of roofing in the United States and one of the nation’s largest distributors of siding, windows and other select exterior building products. Since its founding by Ken and Diane Hendricks in 1982, ABC Supply’s sole focus has been serving professional contractors – taking care of them better than any other distributor and offering the products, services and support they need to build their businesses. It accomplishes this by being an “employee-first” company that treats its associates with respect and gives them the tools they need to succeed. Headquartered in Beloit, Wis., ABC Supply has more than 450 branches in 45 states. It is a seven-time winner of the Gallup Great Workplace Award. More information is available at www.abcsupply.com.

It's hard not to like Ken Hendricks, but maybe that's just me. Both of us have an eye for the Minnesota Vikings. I lived and died with the Purple People Eaters as a child of the '70s. Hendricks, the billionaire owner of ABC Supply Co., nearly bought the franchise a few years ago. "I don't think it's all about the money for the players. Players want to play ball and win," he says.

As the son of a roofer and the founder of two roofing companies, Ken Hendricks has always found dealing with roofing distributors frustrating.
